1. Overview & Scope
The Gentle Dental DTx iOS/iPadOS App (“the App”) helps children prepare for dental visits through an immersive, clinician-informed experience. This App operates entirely on-device and does not collect, share, or transmit any personal information. This Privacy Policy applies in Canada and the United States.
2. Who uses the App
- Caregivers/Clinicians (“Adults”): set up and supervise sessions.
- Children (Learners): experience the content under adult supervision.
The App participates in Apple’s Made for Kids settings and is designed for supervised use.
3. What the App does not do
- No accounts or logins
- No data collection or storage
- No network connections or cloud services
- No advertising, analytics, or third-party SDKs
- No push notifications or cross-app tracking
4. Children’s privacy
The App is compliant with COPPA (U.S.) and PIPEDA/PHIPA (Canada). No child data is collected or transmitted. Deleting the App removes all local settings and cached content.
5. Clinical, school or research use (HIPPA / PHIPA/FERPA)
The App runs locally and does not send data to Wellwave. If used alongside Wellwave’s separate clinical or educational services, those services may be subject to HIPAA, PHIPA, or FERPA, as applicable, and will have their own privacy documentation and agreements.
- In the U.S., any healthcare use is governed by HIPAA and, where applicable, a Business Associate Agreement (BAA).
- In Canada, applicable privacy laws such as PHIPA (Ontario) or equivalent provincial laws may apply.
- For school use, Wellwave may act as a “school official” under FERPA when authorized by an educational institution.
These connected services are outside the scope of this App and have their own privacy documentation.
6. Website interactions (wellwave.ca)
Visiting wellwave.ca or its support pages may generate minimal, privacy-respecting logs for security and performance. We do not link website data to App use or to individual users. Any analytics used are aggregated and de-identified.
7. Security
The App is built using secure development practices and undergoes regular internal review for privacy and data security compliance. The App operates offline and stores all content locally on-device. No data is transmitted to Wellwave.
8. Your rights (U.S & Canada)
We do not collect any personal information. However, you may contact us to confirm this or raise privacy-related questions.
- United States (CCPA-CPRA): No personal data is sold or shared.
- Canada (PIPEDA, PHIPA, Quebec Law 25): You may request confirmation that no data is held by Wellwave.

9. International transfers
No personal information is transferred internationally by the App. Any connected Wellwave services disclose their hosting regions separately.
10. Data retention & deletion
- App: No personal data is collected; uninstalling the App deletes all local content.
- Website: Minimal server logs, retained briefly for security and then deleted or anonymized.
11. Third-party links
The App itself contains no external links. Support materials on our website may link to third-party sites; their privacy practices apply there.
12. Changes to this Policy
We will update this policy if new features are added that change how data is handled. Any new data features will include appropriate consents and in-App notices.
